Dress Up Lover’s NPC Outfit Changer makes it easy to change NPC outfits in dialogue.
There are three types of outfits you can use for NPCs: ‘Custom Outfits’ can be edited up to 300 freely. ‘Preset Outfits’ cover most vanilla outfits. ‘Empty Outfit’ Prevent undressing issue.
Custom Outfits you edit can be exported to json files in MCM and imported into other save games.

Usage:
You can access the following menus by selecting the ‘Change Outfit’ option that is added when you speak to your current follower by default.

——————————————
[Custom Outfit]
Change the target NPC’s outfit to any custom outfit you choose. Custom outfits can be edited from the ‘Open Manager’ menu below. The maximum number of custom outfits you can use by default is 150 and can be increased to 300 in MCM.

[Preset Outfit]
Change the target NPC’s outfit to any preset outfit you choose. Preset outfits cover most of the vanilla outfits and are divided into six categories: Heavy, Light, Robes, Clothing, Unique Outfit and DLC Outfit.

[Empty Outfit]
Change the target NPC’s outfit to the empty outfit with no equipment specified. Use it when you want to equip an item with an armor rating of 1 or when you are tired of editing a custom outfit. NPCs changed to this outfit will now equip all items in the same way as follower-managed mods like UFO, AFT, EFF, and will prevent undressing issues when moving cells that are not supported by those mods. (You need to set the ‘Prevent naked NPCs’ option in MCM)
Note: You can open NPCs inventory by selecting this option after changing to the empty outfit.

[Back to Default Outfit]
Return the target NPC’s current outfit to their default outfit. This default outfit is registered the first time you change an NPC’s outfit using Dress Up Lovers. Remember, you can’t restore NPCs’ outfits that you have already changed using other mods to their original outfits. And each time you select this option, the target NPC’s default outfit will be unregistered.

[Open Manager]
Open the manager menu. This menu allows you to edit your custom outfits, as well as open the inventory of the target NPC and duplicate the items they are equipped with.
——————————————

Notes on uninstallation:
Before you uninstall this mod, be sure to select the ‘Uninstall’ option in the Dress Up Lovers MCM menu, otherwise the NPCs you have changed outfits will be naked, and your save game will be a little bloated.

Compatibility:
If you are using any follower management mods, it is recommended that you turn off the outfit management function on them (Nether’s Follower Framework can be used without doing anything).

To use the ‘Dress all naked NPCs automatically’ function of Put On Some Clothes, turn off the ‘Prevent Naked NPCs’ function of Dress Up Lovers.

For Translators:
If you translated this mod, I would be happy if you could send me a comment or PM. I will gladly include your translation in my mod, or if you have published a translated version of my mod on your Nexus account, I will link to your page from this page. Version 1.1

Ever since I began playing Skyrim, I’ve been frustrated with the options given to us to manage what NPCs are wearing. The only option in the base game is to trade something to a follower, and even then they would unequip the outfit as soon as you dismissed them! And if you wanted to change the outfit on a character that wasn’t a follower? You were out of luck. A few mods over the years have made attempts to solve this problem, but (with all due respect to the authors and their hard work) I personally feel that they have all been very script-heavy or unnecessarily complicated.

Simple NPC Outfit Manager (my very first mod release!) addresses all of these problems. It does exactly what the title says: it allows complete customization of Skyrim NPC outfits. It’s dead simple and completely conflict-free. It’s extremely lightweight, with only a few single-run scripts and zero performance impact. Best of all, it actually works. All the weird bugs you’ll find in other outfit managers just don’t happen here. The outfit changes are done at the engine level, so they are seamless and 100% reliable. And this is all done natively; you do not need SKSE installed. Yes, that means it works perfectly with SSE out of the box.

The mod is operated entirely through dialogue. All you need to do is talk to any NPC, look for the option “Let’s talk outfits. ”, and you will be able to fully customize fifteen different outfits at a time. (Note that you can equip those fifteen outfits to as many people as you wish.) If you grab the «Utility» version of the mod, you also have the option of browsing through a broad selection of generic vanilla Skyrim outfits to equip.

That’s it. Simple as pie.

I made a video to demonstrate the mod’s functionality, which you can check out here. I’ve included some text commentary in the subtitles, so be sure to turn those on as well. This video was made for version 1.0, so some things may look a bit different, but it should get the point across.

As of version 1.1, the mod now comes in two different versions that vary only on restrictions to the outfit dialogue.

The bad news: I cannot recommend that you uninstall the mod once you’ve started using it. Doing so won’t corrupt your saves or leave script artifacts or make your game unstable, but it will leave any NPCs whose outfits you changed to a custom outfit while using the mod naked after a while. This is the only real drawback with this mod: there’s no easy way to uninstall it without these adverse effects to your game.

Beyond that workaround, I cannot provide any further support for uninstallation. Believe me, I’ve tried to figure out a good way to support automated uninstallation, but any method would be massively complicated and would likely require SKSE—and that would kind of defeat the point of making a “Simple” mod.

Simple NPC Outfit Manager should be compatible with everything. It does not edit any vanilla records; the only thing it actually touches is the NPC’s outfit (via script) when a new one is assigned, so there should be zero conflicts.

Since launch, there have been quite a few people specifically asking how well the mod plays together with follower overhauls such as AFT and EFF that also do outfit management. I do not personally use either, but several people have commented that they work just fine together; others have said that they have run into some issues when using both systems on the same NPC. My personal recommendation, should you choose to use my mod, would be to disable AFT or EFF’s outfit management and use my mod in place of it to avoid any hiccups (and also since my system should just work better and be more reliable). Apart from the outfit manager, there should be absolutely no problem using them together otherwise. In general: use one outfit system per NPC, and you should be OK.

I’m happy for others to build features on top of what I already have and release it as an augmentation to this mod, as long as you reach out to me beforehand (see below) and give appropriate credit (as in, linking back to this mod).

Q: How the hell did you make this work?!

A: Creative use of data structures 🙂

If you’re curious about how the mod works technically, I’d love to chat about it. Just shoot me an email at [email protected] or send me a PM on reddit. I’ve also included the source code for the mod in my BSA if you want to have a look at that; you just need to extract it.

Q: Can I integrate your outfit functionality in my mod?
A: Absolutely! As mentioned before, just get in touch with me using the methods above, and I’d be happy to discuss and provide guidance.

If you do decide to integrate this, I ask that you credit me.

Q: Can I translate your mod?
A: Of course. If you’re interested in providing a translation, get in touch with me using the means outlined above; I’d be happy to upload translations to the mod page.

Thanks to Bethesda for creating an amazing game and for providing the tools to make this mod happen.

Version 1.0.3

Version 1.0.2

Do you have tons of armour mods, and wish you could see them in the world more often?
Ever wanted to gear up those guards so they’d stand a better chance against Vampire attacks?

Then Outfit NPCs is for you!

Outfit NPCs lets you gift armour or weapons to any NPC for them to immediately equip. Outfitting is initiated through dialogue using a persuade check (which can be disabled); if you’re friends with the NPC, you don’t need to persuade them.

Doesn’t store information about outfitted NPCs, which means lower script load and no «management slots»!

Feature overview

— Toggle Outfitter power adds or removes the Outfitter effect
— While the Outfitter effect is active, a dialogue option for outfitting should appear
— You have to persuade NPCs to let you outfit them («Why don’t you put on these items. (Persuade)»)
— The chance to succeed the persuade is based on your Speech, but also has a random component. This is configurable in the MCM, including making it always succeed.
— Failing the persuade check gives you the Anxiety effect for 15 minutes (configurable), which prevents you from attempting an outfit persuade on any NPC while it lasts.
— If you’re friends with the NPC you don’t have to persuade them («I have some gear for you to wear.»)
— By default, outfitting uses the gift menu, which means everything is one-way; you can’t get your gear back. You can change this in the MCM.

Requirements

SKSE
SkyUI for the MCM; other MCM mods would work I guess.

Known issues / FAQ

Do outfits persist across game exit / leaving the area?
Yes! (Tell me if they don’t!)

This isn’t working with my follower!
There are already plenty of follower mods out there that let you customize follower outfits, so Outfit NPCs is not intended to be used for followers.
I use Amazing Follower Tweaks, which lets you set a standard outfit, as well as one to wear in cities and at home.

Known issue as of 1.0.3:
If you:
a) have not yet fully overridden an NPC’s default outfit
b) equip an old piece of their default outfit that you previously overrode
c) equip the NPC with items that override the remaining pieces of their default outfit (except the one you reequipped in b)
Then the NPC will equip their full default outfit over whatever you gave them.
It’s a pretty small problem, since none of your items get destroyed, and it requires giving them pieces of their default outfit (probably not too common on its own) before having replaced all of their original outfit, so I don’t think it will happen that often. I will think about how to fix it though.
Currently the only fix I know would involve clearing their outfit and reequipping it when you begin outfitting them, which causes a brief flash where all their gear is unequipped, which I really don’t like.

Dialogue doesn’t show up!
Try saving and reloading your game.

NPCs are changing their weapons! / NPCs change weapons when I add a piece of armour after giving them a weapon! /
Yeah, it turns out NPCs do try to choose the best weapon, unlike armour. However they only update their weapon upon entering combat, or something else like having their inventory updated (i.e. equipping another item). For now you’ll just have to work around it, sorry. Try the Full inventory access mode in the MCM for full control when messing around with this.

Why do I have to persuade people to give them free armour.

MCM options

Balance tweaks

Anxiety duration: Controls the length of the Anxiety debuff (see the Feature overview)

Full inventory access mode: This makes outfitting use the normal inventory menu instead of the gift menu. This means you can take items back if you want, but unfortunately basically allows free pickpocketing. Use it only if you’re disciplined!
Also, it might have slightly odd behaviour, particularly when removing items. I may make some fixes.

Speech advances per day: The number of times per day you’ll get Speech experience from a successful outfit persuade. I’ve got it set to 1 by default because of how easy it is.

Unlimited Speech advances per day: Remove the limit on Speech advances per day.

Outfitting ability

Toggle Outfitter Power: Adds or removes the Toggle Outfitter power

Enable NPC outfitting: Adds or removes the Outfitter effect (i.e. same as using the Toggle Outfitter power in-game)

Persuade chance calculator

Persuade success chance shows the probability of passing the persuade check using the current Persuade chance modifier and the Test Speech level. Note that Test Speech level doesn’t actually affect your speech level, it just feeds the value into the calculator.

Armours in the screenshot with armour mods:
Tera Armors (Elisif has Nightwinder set and the rightmost male has Ascendant set)
Immersive Armors (leftmost three dudes)
Schwertleite Set (woman with the winged helmet)
Osare Maid Outfit (guess which one)
JackGa Shop (rightmost male’s shield. lol the mod has a huge amount of items and that’s all I used it for)

Описание

Требования: Skyrim LE, SKSE, SkyUI

To enjoy the benefits of Nexus Mods, please log in or register a new account
